I’m your neighborhood custom clothier, situated between Bucktown and Lincoln Park with a convenient, free parking lot. Just one block from 90/94 and a short walk from the Clybourn Metra Station, my studio sits in a brick timber loft just east of Damen Ave on Webster Ave.
What sets me apart? I’m locally owned, deeply experienced, and committed to giving you a truly personal, one-on-one experience - by appointment please, without interruptions.
Clothing has been my obsession since I was a teenager growing up in Chicago, and for my entire life I’ve studied the details - shoulder slopes, lapel shapes, color theory - so you don’t have to. My goal is to help you build your wardrobe with intention. This is “slow fashion”: fewer, better pieces that work together, last longer, and reflect timeless style.
From custom tuxedos and custom suits to casual staples like denim from the storied Candiani fabric mill in Italy, I’ve got you covered. We’ll design garments that make sense for your lifestyle and that you’ll actually love to wear.

First Fitting: When you’re ready to craft your custom garment, we’ll start with a 90-minute session. First I’ll help you choose fabrics, lining and talk through the style details that matter to you. I’ll carefully evaluate your posture to ensure the suit is tailored perfectly to how you naturally carry yourself. Every client has their own preferences and vision, so we treat the entire process as a collaborative partnership. You get to design every detail to your liking, ensuring that the final garment is a true reflection of your personal style. And finally we’ll get an understanding of your fit preferences, I’ll carefully evaluate your posture to ensure the suit is tailored perfectly to how you naturally carry yourself and lastly-take an extensive set of measurements to dial in the fit-just how you’d like it.
Second Fitting: When we are finished making your garment I’ll contact you to set up an appointment for your second fitting - at which point you’ll try it on to make sure everything fits correctly. Any alterations needed at this time will be done at no cost. It is not uncommon for everything to fit correctly at your second fitting. If this is the case, you’ll take it home with you at this time. Should adjustments need to be made, alterations take about a week.
Final Fitting/Pick Up: You’ll try on your garment one last time when you pick it up (if adjustments were made) and typically, at this point you are good to go. You’ll take it home with you.

We use fabric from the best mills in the world - the majority Italian, such as Loro Piana, Ermenegildo Zegna, Ariston, Drago, Carnet, Vitale Barberis Canonico and the storied Candiani mill that produces all of our denim and five pocket chino fabrics. We also source fabric from Holland & Sherry, Standeven and Hardy Minnis in England. And finally, we get some of the best fabrics in the world from the renowned French fabric mill Dormeuil and from Scabal in Belgium.

Typically, most core/in stock fabrics take about 5-6 weeks to make. While luxury fabrics take about 2-3 weeks longer as these fabrics have to be ordered from their mill in Europe. In addition to making the garment, we want to be sure to allow ample time for your 2nd fitting and then any adjustments/alterations if need be. In a perfect world, 12 weeks or more (prior to your wear date) is the magic number.

Suits, tuxedos, blazers and trousers should be dry-cleaned as INFREQUENTLY as possible. After wearing the garment, hang it back on the hanger you received it on as the bump shoulder on this hanger is important because it fills the shoulder of your jacket, something a wire hanger cannot do. Leave it hung outside of your closet for 48 hours after each wearing to breathe. Don’t store your suit in the garment bag - only use the garment bag for transport or travel. DEFINITELY use cedar blocks in your closet to keep moths away. The best way to use cedar blocks is to place a few in different areas in your closet - but not in contact with (touching) your clothing. These garments are made of natural fibers that are excellent at releasing odor and wrinkles on their own if cared for properly. Steam is your friend! You can use a steamer or just hang it up in the bathroom while you shower. These tips will extend the life of the garment without a doubt. If it smells funky or you happen to get a stain on it, I highly recommend using Davis Imperial cleaners in Chicago when you’re going to have it dry cleaned. If their location is an inconvenience for you, they offer a delivery service for a nominal fee.
Shirts can be brought to your local dry cleaner and can be “laundered with no starch". I’d recommend washing them at home in cold water, hang or flat dry and then press - but to be honest, I don’t think it’s worth the time and effort.

We met with Donnie and he was an absolute PRO. He showed us the sample books for the buttons, suit lining, suit fabric, and walked us through the many different styles of lapels, pockets, buttons, hem lengths and widths etc. He has an amazing assortment of styles to choose from, from traditional to funky to cool. There is something for everyone there (even people who never wear suits).

We bought a custom tux for my fiancé. We were completely blown away by the service!! Donnie is intelligent, kind, and incredibly helpful. He made us feel like VIP, he took great care of us and answered all our questions. If you are in the market for a custom tuxedo or custom suit seriously consider stopping by. You won't be disappointed.

Incredible experience. Donnie helped me choose my look for my wedding and was extremely helpful throughout the process. He made sure that my custom shirt, tux, and the rest of my gear fit perfectly. He was the man!! The tux itself is top notch and was a reasonable price. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
